illegal Immagration???
In the past three days I have encountered at least three discussions about illegal immigration and its consequences on the united states. I do say consequences because in no way can any one with any self truth claim that illegal immigration has had a more positive effect on our country than negative. Yes the topic of illegal immigration is a sensitive one and should not be taken lightly; but it should be common knowledge to the people of this country. In Mr. Murray's English class we discussed the matter of a Kennesaw State University student who was arrested because she was an illegal immigrant. one may ask the question of why was she arrested, or say that she should have had an equal opportunity to go to school like the rest of the nation. The fact of the matter is, that she did and does have an equal opportunity. She has the same options that immigrants from other countries do. and that is fill out the paper work and do it legally. Some may say that its her parents fault and she did not have a choice when she was a child. well my reply to them is yes she may not have had a choice in her childhood but she most certainly did when she was attending college and preparing for a degree in Law. Now, no one should take any of this personally because this is just one mans thoughts on the subject and by no means am i claiming to be right on the matter. If anything I am saying the American people need to educate themselves on the matter. So when the shit does hit the fan, we are prepared to make a descision that is for the better and not the worst.

I think it is interesting that you chose to approach the topic of immigration the way that you did. What is your reason behind the statement "illegal immigration has had a more positive effect on our country than negative"? In my opinion it has caused more problems than necessary. I believe everyone should be given an equal opportunity in this world, absolutly, however, there is always a right and a wrong way to go about that. Illegal immigrants break the law. They should just go about it the legal way and make their mark without anything to hide.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with your statement that the student at Kennesaw State had to have eventually understood that what she was doing was wrong. I like how you say that Americans need to educate themselves on the matter. Me being one of them.
I think you might understand a little better if you read the whole sentence properly
